The late Jack Haki Pu Tawhai - 13th Oct 2021

With great sadness Leishman Funeral Services advise that one of our long-time funeral celebrants, Jack Tawhai has passed away suddenly at his home in Milton on Wednesday morning, October 13, 2021.

Jack grew up in a multi-cultural world where funerals and tangis were part of his life - Jack had a deep understanding of loss and grief and supported many of our South Otago families and Whanau over the past few years helping them to create services that best suited individual families with their beliefs, values, and culture.

Jack leaves a large gap in the lives of not only his own family/whanau but also in the Milton Community where Jack was weaved into the fabric of the community, assisting many families in many ways.

Farewell Jack - Okioki te Rongomau - Kua oti o mahi i konei

Please take the time to have a look at the recent photograph of Jack which he was very proud of.  This was taken at the last funeral service Jack officiated for us for the late Shane McManus and his Whanau at Kaka Point back in June.  Shane McManus' casket travelled to Kaka Point on the Hayley Davidson which is available here for all our families.  Jack was very enthusiastic about trying out the ride himself!
