DUNCAN, Kathleen Joyce (Joyce). Suddenly, on August 2, 2021, at Clutha Health First; in her 91st year.  Dearly loved wife of the late Ken, a loved mother and mother-in-law of Russell (Australia), Lynnette Gold (Milton), and their partners, and Trevor and Susan (Lawrence), and a dearly loved Grandmother and Great-Grandmother of her many grandkids.  A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held on Monday, August 9 at 1.30 pm in the Coronation Hall, Union Street, Milton, then leaving for the Fairfax Cemetery, followed by afternoon tea at the Milton Bowling Club, 50 Spenser Street, Milton.  Donations to Milton St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at Joyce’s service.  Messages to 16 North Branch Road, Milton 9291. 

CARRUTHERS, Robin Kempthorne (Rob); Peacefully, on August 2, 2021 at Dunedin Hospital, with family; aged 86 years.  Dearly loved husband of Barbara for 53 years, much-loved father, father-in-law and friend of Joy and Alan (Taumata), Kay and Russ Martin (Auckland), Annie and Will Kefford (Singapore), Lisa and Kari (Wellington), Jason and Claire (Wellington), and a treasured Grandad of Hannah, and Reuben Watt; Summer, Erin, and Basil Martin; Josh, Dan, and Isla Kefford; William, Urban, and Esther Reiterer; Sofia, and Archie. Loved son of the late Andrew and Hazel, loved brother and brother-in-law and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews and a good friend to many.  A service to celebrate Rob’s life will be held on Friday, August 6  at 1.30 p.m. in the Clinton Community Centre, followed by a private interment.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Balclutha St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be left at Rob’s service.  Messages to 26 Naish Street, Balclutha, 9230. 

GILL, Jean Margaret (formerly of Pounawea and Alexandria, Scotland); Peacefully, on August 4, 2021 at Clutha Views Lifecare; aged 89 years.  Dearly loved wife of the late Stuart, much-loved mother and mother-in-law of George and Megan, Jan and Mick, and grandmother of Ben, and Emma.  At Jean’s request, a private family service has been held. KEACH, Neville Douglas; Peacefully, on August 6, 2021, at Clutha Health First; aged 75 years.  Loved husband of Heather, loved father of Rebecca, and Logan, loved father-in-law of Ricki, loved grandad to Alice, and Brooke, and a loved great-grandad of Mackenzie.  A service to celebrate Neville’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 11 at 1.30pm, in Leishman’s Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation. DUFF, Wilma. Passed peacefully on August 9 2021, at Holmdene Rest Home, Balclutha; aged 96 years; dearly loved wife of the late Gordon Duff, a much-loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of Russell and Lynda, Robin and Irene, Judy and Murray Mills, and Peter, a treasured Nana of Campbell, Juliet, Malcolm, Andrew, Karly, Michelle, Tracey and a loved great-grandmother of her fourteen great-grandchildren.  Special thanks to the staff at Holmdene.    A service to celebrate Wilma’s life will be held on Friday, August 13 at 1 pm in the Balclutha Presbyterian Church, Clyde Street, followed by a private family interment.  Messages C/- 8A Armstrong Street, Balclutha 9230

KEE, Dinece Alma (nee Chambers). Passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 13, 2021.  Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Alan and Heather (Australia), Elizabeth and Daniel (Balclutha), Amanda and Glenn (Christchurch), Rebecca (Balclutha), and Glenn (Australia).  Much loved by John (Clydevale), and special companion of Phillip (Christchurch).  Treasured Nana of Aidan, the late Liam, Kyla, Hunter, Ashley, Matthew, Jayden, Zackery, Xavier, and Makita.  A service to celebrate Dinece’s life will be held on Friday, August 20 at 1.30 pm in the Chapel at Leishman Funeral Services, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by a private cremation.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Balclutha St Johns Ambulance and may be left at Dinece’s service.  Messages for the family may be sent to 199 Clyde Street, Balclutha 9230.  Please note Dinece's service has been cancelled but a Memorial Service will be held at a later day to be adised.   

GROENEWEGEN, Leonardus Antonius (Leo). Peacefully, on August 16, 2021, at Clutha Views Lifecare, Balclutha; aged 90 years – died one day before his 91st birthday. Dearly loved husband of Mary for 58 years, much loved father and father-in-law of Antony and Lynne, Astrid and Ken Murray, and Linda, cherished Opa of Natasha, Clem, Arie, and Sofia; Brendan, Rachael, and Leo; Casey, Blair, Toby, and Lexi; Michaela; Alice, and Jack; Christopher, and Yuri.    R.I.P.   Requiem Mass to celebrate Leo’s life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11am in St Mary MacKillop Catholic Church, Gordon Street, Balclutha. MAXWELL Ann Marie.  Passed away peacefully at home on August 19 2021. ROSS, Ruth Annie (nee Webster). 2.8.1921 – 22.8.2021. Peacefull, at Clutha Views Lifecare, with Lorraine by her side. Dearly beloved wife of the late George (Geo), most precious loved Mum of Ian and Janet (Balclutha), Lorraine and John Tyro (Temuka), wonderful and caring Nana of Graham and Dora (Sydney), Gary and Jen (Waiouru), Jan and Michael Slattery (Balclutha), Shelley Ross (Dunedin), Tracey and Brett McKersey, Tristin and Lydia Pagey, Bryce and Jordan Pagey (all of Christchurch), treasured great Nana of Jarad, Brendon, and Hayley Ross; David, Rebecca, and Zak Slattery; Ciaran, and Ronan McKersey; Thaddeus Pagey; Alex and Brad, and Kadee Pagey.  A special thank you to Janet for looking after Mum, and the staff at Clutha Views for their wonderful care given to Ruth. KELLY, Janice Dell nee Gregory, formally Craik. Dell passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 1, 2021. GUTSELL, John.  John passed peacefully at home on September 6, 2021 after a courageous battle. Dearly loved partner of Julie, cherished dad of Riki and Aleisha, Brayden and Shauney, and Luana, a loved Grumpy Grandad of Jade, and Hadley. Loved son of the late Henry and Kathleen Gutsell and a cherished brother and uncle of Sheree, and Catlin.   A private family ceremony has been held. 

RICHARDS, John Leslie.  Loved husband of the late Peggy Richards, loved father of Simon, and Jane Richards. Heartfelt thanks to all the kind people who cared for John over the past 12 months. John was a lovely man who will forever be in our hearts.

HARRISON, Daniel James. Tragically taken on September 16, 2021, doing what he loved. Daniel was a dearly loved soulmate and dare- devil partner of Janelle, and soon to be Dad. Treasured son-in-law of Mervyn and Jane, and the extended Hazeldine family. Messages to 11 Coronation Court, Milton 9220.

VAN DER HILST, Hans. Died peacefully at Dunedin Hospital on September 22, 2021 with his loving family at his side; aged 75 years.  Dearly loved husband of the late Pat, much loved father and father-in-law of Les and Pam, Diane, Graeme and Char, Peter, Debbie, and Sandy, cherished Grandad of *Logan, Haley and Martin, Ashleigh and Pete; Jake; Shaydar, Jasmine, Conner, Pepper, Seanna, Atlanta, Sage, Kearra, and a treasured great Grandad of Lacey, and Baxton. (* denotes deceased).  “Dearly missed but never forgotten”.  A service to celebrate Hans life will be held on Friday, September 24, at 1.30 pm, in our Chapel, 12 James Street, Balclutha, followed by interment at the Warepa Cemetery.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, numbers will be restricted to 100 attendees. SHEPPARD, Cara Christine (nee Leeden). Peacefully, at Holmdene Rest Home, Balclutha on September 27, 2021; aged 76 years.  Devoted wife of Donald for 56 years, a much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Christopher and Pushpa, Pamela and Martin Mulligan, Tony, and Stuart Hill, Deborah and Richard Quested, a cherished gran and granny to Wayne, Jackie, Libby, Robert, Tara, Charlie, George, Tom, and a loved great granny to her great-grandchildren.   A service to celebrate Cara’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 12, at 1.30 pm in the St John’s Anglican Church, 165 Union Street, Milton, followed by a private cremation.  Due to COVID level 2 restrictions, attendees will be limited to 70 seated in St John’s Anglican Church and face masks must be worn at all times.  Family encourage those attending Cara’s service to dress bright and colourful to help celebrate Cara’s life.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Blind Low Vision NZ would be appreciated and may be left at Cara’s service.  Messages to 10 Cross Street, Milton 9220. 

BICHAN, John William (Jack). Peacefully, on September 27, 2021 with his loving family by his side; aged 90 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of his “Old Flower” Heather, much loved Dad of Juanita and Wayne Arthur, Sandra Bichan, Joanne and Paul Barton, special Grandad to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Son of *Alf and *Mamie, brother and brother-in-law of *Ron and Helen, *Len and *Mavis, Eric and *Jean Hyslop, Noelene Adams, and Tui Bichan, loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. FRASER, David Bruce (Bruce);  On Friday October 1, peacefully at home, as was his dying wish; aged 72 years. Loved husband of Lynne, loved father, father-in-law, and grandad of Kathryn and Joe, Hannah, Ben, and Ciara Trimble (Australia), Tracy Fraser and Mark Hill (Whangarei), step-father of Kenneth Murdoch, Lloyd Murdoch, Donna Longman, and Rebecca Murdoch, a cherished step-grandfather of his many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Loved brother of John, and brother of Helen, and friend of Di, loved nephew of David, and Rose, and a loved uncle of all his nephews and nieces. At Bruce’s request, a private cremation has been held. WARDELL, John Keith (Keith). Peacefully, on October 11, 2021 at Clutha Views Lifecare; aged 88 years. Dearly loved husband of Margaret for 64 years, much loved father and father-in-law of John and Karen, Alastair and Bronwyn, Sarah and Frazer, David and Christine, cherished grandfather of his 12 grandchildren and 13.5 great grandchildren. CALVER, Derek Francis (Last Chief Postmaster of Wellington). Peacefully, at Clutha Views Lifecare, Balclutha on October 13, 2021; aged 87 years.  Cherished husband of Marie for 39 years, a much-loved father and father-in-law of Lyn and *Brent Rae, Casper and *Debbie, *Darryl, *Shane, Genine and Brad Owen, Kimberley and Brad Proctor, a loved Grandad and Dea of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a loved son, brother, brother-in-law and a friend to many.   (*denotes deceased).

McLEOD, Ngaire Grace. Peacefully, on October 14, 2021, at Ashlea Grove Resthome, Milton; aged 94 years. Dearly loved daughter of *Hec and *Jean McLeod, much loved sister and sister-in-law of Rae and *Les, cherished Aunty of Robyn, and Kate, loved great Aunty of Alex, and Sofia, respected long- time friend of Wendy Hellyer. COWIE, Lynn David. Unexpectedly, at Dunedin Hospital on October 14, 2021; in his 63rdyear. Dearly loved and cherished husband of Linda, much loved father and father-in-law of Tracy and Scott Munro, and Nicole, dearly loved Poppy of Brielle, and Imogen. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Brian and Sandy, and Sandra and Shane Dallas. Lynn will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  Forever In Our Hearts.  A Memorial Service for Lynn will be held in the Milton RSA, Union Street, Milton, on Thursday, October 21, at 1.30pm. CARSON, Wayne (Crafty). We lost our best mate on October 16, 2021 peacefully at home with his loving family; aged 75 years. Dearly loved husband of Barbara, much loved father, father-in-law and Grandfather of Cherie, Harry, Renee, and Georgia; Nikki, Greg, Kody, Emily, Dylan, and little Colton; Kylie, Mike, Billie-Rose, Charlie, Daisy, Madi, and Ruby; loved son of *Bob and *Elsie, loved brother and brother-in-law of*Robert and Irene, twin brother of Paul and Biddy, Michael and Stephanie, David and Anna, Chris and Kay, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. CLEVERLEY, Lyndsay Fay. It is with sadness in our hearts that we let you know that Lyndy has died in Dunedin, on October, 18, 2021.  Very much loved and cherished wife of Steve, beautiful, caring mother and mother-in-law of Andrew and Raffy, Rach and Ant, Simon and Christy, and a special Nanny to all her grandchildren.  Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private service will be held.
