Is Embalming Necessary?

Providing Respect and Dignity

The function of embalming is to ensure disinfection and the preservation of the body for the period up until the day of the funeral service. It will ensure a more natural appearance of the deceased and a more pleasant experience for those wishing to view.  With embalming we have three goals:

  • Sanitation
  • Preservation
  • Presentation

Sometimes, if the funeral is delayed for some reason, or if the body has to be transferred to another country or city, embalming is necessary by law. Most times however, embalming is optional. We do recommend embalming to our families, but it is optional in most cases.

We have qualified staff who carry out the embalming process and at all times the deceased will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
